Athlete Accommodations and Activities
The 2010 Ontario Senior Games - Actifest is a two-day event to be held from August 10th, 2010 until August 12th, 2010. Ontario residents 55 years of age or older will compete in 19 different sports including: golf, lawn bowling, slo-pitch, swimming, tennis, euchre, bocce, darts, and five-pin bowling. The 19 sanctioned events that will take place will do so at several world-class facilities around the City of Oshawa. This will give pariticipants the chance to take in some of the stunning and historic sites around the city.
For the duration of the Games athletes will be staying in the comfortable Athlete's Village which is located on the Durham College/University of Ontario: Institute of Technology (UOIT) campus.
During the middle night of the Games athletes will be involved in entertainment which includes a trip to the Great Blue Heron Charity Casino, a Parkwood Garden Party and Historical Site Tour, a Driftwood Theatre Performance of William Shakespeare's Twelfth Night, and a Karaoke/Movie Night.
